Joseph A. Baratta, Esq.

Joseph A. Baratta completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Richmond and received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1989. He received his Juris Doctorate Degree from Ohio Northern University in 1992, where he qualified as a finalist in the Appellate Advocacy and Legal Writing Competition, and was a member of the School’s Moot Court Team. Mr. Baratta was admitted to the New York and New Jersey Bars in 1993.

Areas of Practice:
Mr. Baratta has worked extensively with both private and public companies, from general corporate matters, to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) compliance. He has also worked on numerous SEC registrations and private capital raising placements.

He counsels clients on structuring acquisitions, oversees due diligence investigation of acquisition targets, and has developed expertise in the preparation and negotiation of all documents relating to public company compliance, preparation of Securities Law Reports, required to be filed by publicly traded companies, as well as public information press releases, the acquisition and sale of a business, including stock and asset purchase agreements, non-competition agreements, shareholder agreements, and employment agreements. Mr. Baratta also has extensive experience with commercial and residential real estate (including structuring 1031 and reverse 1031 exchanges).

Professional Associations:
He has served as a Board of Directors member of the Columbian Lawyers Association - First Judicial Department, and has been an elected and served as a Councilman in Chester, New Jersey from 2003 through the present.
